| The newly formed Tudor Rose Partnership of Chartered Quantity Surveyors came to us to devise a corporate identity for them. They wanted a logo that was modern and yet posessing a traditional quality at the same time - something different to the multitude of companies already in business in other fields using the name Tudor Rose. Although the partners had decided already that they wanted to use the Tudor Rose as part of the logo. For our first design idea (above) we took the shape of the 'classic' Tudor Rose and simplified it to its most geometric form. For a clean, strong logo we chose a modern san-serif typeface. The client wanted a design to reflect the inherent historical meanings behind the Tudor Rose name, marking the company as British. However to avoid the typical union jack colours we chose a slightly more burgundy red and a brighter, lighter blue. We were about to start work on a second design for an alternative corporate identity when the client called in to see us. This idea fulfilled the brief so well that he and his partner did not want to see any further designs. |
